LEAP & Dolomiti Contemporanee


Leap Factory and Dolomiti Contemporanee come together to collaborate: during the visit to the exhibition space of DC in Casso, Stefano Testa and Gianluca d'Incà Levis agree on a progressive and contemporary vision for the development of the culture of the mountain. The trip also gave us the opportunity for a accurate visit to the Eni Village in Borca di Cadore, The trip also gave us the opportunity for a accurate visit to the Villaggio Eni in Borca di Cadore, designed by Edoardo Gellner in the 50s by the will of Enrico Mattei. A significant work in the history of italian modern architecture, even more in the history of our country and the nation that could have been. It is now the center of a project to renewal and valorisation by Dolomiti Contemporanee.

LEAP on the Eastern Alps

Two days of events in the mountains of northeast. On June 30, Auronzo di Cadore: conference at City Hall on the occasion of the exhibition “Abitare minimo nelle Alpi” and the launch of the international architectural competition for the reconstruction of the bivouac F.lli Fanton on Marmarole, organized by Fondazione Architettura Belluno Dolomiti and by the local branch of the Italian Alpine Club. On July 1, in Cortina d'Ampezzo: Inauguration of the exhibition "Rifugi alpini ieri e oggi" at the Alexander Hall.  Leap has presented Leaprus 3912, the alpine station on Mount Elbrus in the Caucasus, with the projection of the raw cut of the documentary that will be completed and presented to the public next autumn. The events witnessed once again the well-established association of Leap Factory with friends of Fondazione Architettura Belluno Dolomiti and Cantieri d'Alta Quota. Ortinfestival conclusion

The gastronomical festival of the contemporary vegetable gardens, Ortinfestival, has just concluded. It has been a real success in terms of flow of visitors.  For those who didn't have the chance to attend, here it is a picture of S2 in the historical garden of Venaria Reale.

Updates from LEAPrus3912

LEAPfactory has just accomplished a monitoring survey of the system: everything works! The alpine station on Mount Elbrus had been visited during the winter season, and is waiting for the flow of the summer.

Pianeta Bianco at the Trento Film Festival

Pianeta Bianco is the new short movie by Francesco Mattuzzi, set between the ice and the rocks of the Grandes Jorasses and in an exceptional location: the Gervasutti Bivouac! It will be in competition at the Trento Film Festival 2014: the show will be on Monday April 28th at 7pm at Cinema Modena, room 3. The film will be in reply on May 2nd at 3.15pm at Cinema Modena room 2. Don't miss it!

LEAPfactory and "La Montagna Abitata"

On the 14th of April, at Torino Incontra, LEAPfactory has organized the conference “La Montagna Abitata”. Several guests were present at the event and many speakers among which Giancarlo Allen, Alberto Winterle, Lorenzo Weber, Marco Piccolroaz, Francesca Bogo, Luca Gibello, Roberto Dini, Antonio De Rossi,  Alberto Sasso, Federica Corrado, Giuseppe Dematteis, Pier Paolo Viazzo. Thanks to everyone, it has been a great occasion to discuss about the contemporary situation of mountains and to meet you all. We remind you that the exhibitions "Constructive Alps", "Costruire il Trentino", "The Pod" and "Il Lusso della Montagna”, at Palazzo Birago,  via Carlo Alberto 16, in Turin, will be open until the 26th of April. Constructive Alps in Turin!

LEAPfactory is pleased to invite you to the exhibition Constructive Alps 2013, international prize for sustainable refurbishments and new constructions in the Alps, where we were among the finalists.  The architecture prize Costruire il Trentino (2009-2012), the documentary Il lusso della Montagna, and the preview of the movie The Pod will integrate the exposition at Palazzo Birago in Turin, in Via Carlo Alberto 16, from April 14 to 26. We are also pleased to invite you to the opening conference La Montagna abitata, from 10.30am to 6.30pm at Torino Incontra, in via Nino Costa 8 in Turin. We would like to thank: the Chamber of commerce of Turin who houses the exhibition and the conference, the Department for Environment and the Italian Presidency of the Alpine Convention who promoted the event.
