On August 29, LEAPfactory participated at the Alpine Museum in Bern in the final of the prestigious international award Constructive Alps organized by the Swiss Confederation, the Princedom of Liechtenstein and CIPRA that collects the best sustainable architecture in the Alps. The Gervasutti bivouac, ranked among the top 30 projects selected (published on the magazine Hochparterre) out of 400, has reached the final round that finally ended with the victory of the Austrian project for the Agricultural Training Centre Salzkammergut in Altmünster.
At the conclusion of the enterprise in July on the Mount Elbrus, online preview of the new timelapse, realized by Francesco Mattuzzi, which condeses in a few minutes the assembly and the installation of the new LEAPrus alpine station! At the altitude of 4000 metres asl, the new base camp –entirely branded LEAPfactory- to reach the top of Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, is now ready! The prefabricated modules, already fully prepared, were transported by helicopter to their final location at high altitude in a very short time: the spectacular images of the gallery show the phases of transport, assembly and…the final result!
Monday, July 22 LEAP s2 ECOR has taken flight and has been air dispatched and installed in its final location, the refuge G.Bertone of Courmayeur, on a beautiful green meadow with a view of Mont Blanc. The installation steps have proved to be simple and fast, ending half a day; a specialized team of installers will proceed in the coming days to its activation.
Saturday, July the 20th in the frame of the historical center of Courmayeur was held the presentation of the new module for wastewater treatment LEAP s2 ECOR; with the participation of the major, among the guests has developed an interesting debate focused on the issues of environmental management, land, architecture and sustainable economies in mountain contexts, of which s2 is a virtuous protagonist!
Today the new depuration unit "ecoR" designed by LEAPfactory has been installed in in the historical center of Courmayeur!The unit will be visible until Monday morning, when it will be transported by helicopter to the "G. Bertone" alpine hut which will be its final destination. Everything is ready on the Mount Elbrus for the installation of the new LEAPrus basecamp! Our team is proceeding with the final steps of control after the arrival of the latest modules. The foundations are already laid and ready to accommodate the mounting of the new mountain station LEAP branded. LEAPfactory is pleased to invite you to the exhibition of the new LEAP S2 eco R, the innovative module for the wastewater depuration in the high-altitude facilities, which will be installed at the end of July at the G.Bertone alpine hut, in Courmayeur (AO). The lecture "The environmental sustainability of the high-altitude accomodation facilities" will take place on Saturday 20th July at 11.00 a.m. at the Jardin de l'Ange, in the historical center of Courmayeur. The lecturers will be Riccardo Beltramo, professor of Science of Commodities at the Faculty of Economics (University of Turin), Luca Gibello, president of the association Cantieri d'alta quota and Giacomo Pettenati, from the the association Dislivelli. A light refreshments to follow.
LEAPfactory attended the conference Opencompetition, an initiative that has compared teams from different Universities on the theme of environmental sustainability. Alberto Altavilla (LEAPfactory) in a dialogue with Giocosolution (sponsor of the initiative) gave a talk on integration of photovoltaic and on energy issues related to the implementation of the project s1.
On Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of March, in occasion of the International Convention "Rifugi in divenire" ("In making refuges") organised in Trento by "Cantieri d'alta quota", we made a speech on the results of the funcioning of the Nuova Capanna Gervasutti.
